KHATARBARI HIGH SCHOOL was established in 1958 and it is managed by the Department of Education. It is located in Rural area. It is located in TAMULPUR district of erstwhile Baksa district under Nagrijuli block of Assam. The school consists of Grades from 6 to 10 offering Assamese and Bodo medium. The school is Co-educational and it doesn't have an attached pre-primary section. The school is in the middle of Nagrijuli chowk, located in Bhawraguri village.
The need of an educational institution was visualized by local intellectuals of the then social activists such as Babul Swargiary, Moneswar Boro, and Hari Narayan Das, Baliram Boro, Nabin Sarma and many. The school land and part of its area of about 43 bighas was donated by social worker and the then mouzadar Doyaram Choudhury of Khatarbari. At present the school has an added pheripheral institution named as Model School, Khatarbari on its western part. The school boasts of having a hostel facility for girls in its compound.
It is not using school building as a shift-school. This school is approachable by all weather road. In this school academic session starts in April since 2021 as the NEP 2020 has made it mandatory.

The school has Government building. It has got 15 classrooms for instructional purposes. All the classrooms are not in good condition. At least some of it needs urgent renovation. It has 2 other rooms for non-teaching activities. The school has a separate room for Head master and teaching staff. The school has a Boundary Wall surrounding it and land portion of school play-ground has no boundary wall. The school has electric connection for office and staff room and only one class room has been connected by electricity. The source of Drinking Water in the school is Well and water tank and it is functional. The school has no boys toilet and only one urinal is functional,1 girls toilet and it is functional. The school has a playground. The school has a library and has 1380 books in its library. The school does not need ramp for disabled children to access classrooms. The school has 10 computers for teaching and learning purposes and about 8 are functional. The school is having a computer aided learning lab. The school is prepares and provide mid-day meal to upper primary students.
